the characterization piece of the song was to display her dead husband as a ghosts. That he needed to send a message to his wife from the dead. Portraying that she knows now that everything is okay and she is safe. Her fear is gone knowing its her husband. That all he was doing was bringing peace to her fears of the things on her mind.
